Criminal Justice Issues- evaluate current procedures for investigation and prosecution of domestic violence cases.  This committee will assess what are effective methods of coordinating services and make recommendations

DVRO-Subcommittee- This committee will bring together the representative agencies which have a vested interest in identifying and resolving the current problems associated with the service of Domestic Violence Restraining Orders.

Death Review Team—to review domestic violence related deaths in Kern County to determine if there are patterns or commonalties which can be shared to prevent future deaths.  This committee will prepare a yearly report with recommendations for prevention/education as deemed appropriate.   not an open committee

Elder Abuse Issues- evaluate current services available for the adult & aging population for both clients and law enforcment entities. Provide trainings and annual conferences to educate on the issues facing older adults who are in abusive relationships.  This committee will assess what are effective methods of coordinating services and make recommendations

Legislation / Grants—to investigate current domestic violence legislation and case law;  assist other committees in preparing legislative recommendations;  maintain an active watch for available grants and assist and support DVAC collaborative members in searching and/or obtaining grants for their projects.

DV Court Committee—for persons who are involved directly with the Court in the facilitation of services to victims and offenders of domestic violence.  To evaluate and provide recommendations for the effective delivery of services to this population.
